Dentistry

Dr. Andrea is a small animal veterinarian that has discovered a passion for dentistry. Her interest has led her to complete numerous courses in dental surgery, anesthesia, and pain management, gaining knowledge and tools to further enhance the dental services she is able to offer.

Helping pets to have pain-free and healthy mouths has become the focus of Dr. Andrea’s practice, with most of her days being spent in dental surgery.

Dr. Andrea accepts patients from other hospitals for dental care on a referral basis, with records and reports returning to your regular veterinary hospital for continuity of care.

Dr. Andrea is not a board certified dentist and in some cases, referral to a specialty hospital is necessary. Board certified dentists are specialists that have completed an additional 4 years of training after graduating vet school. They perform many advanced procedures not done in general practice.

Dr. Andrea can offer the following services:

  • Surgical extractions, including mucoperiosteal flap creation and tension-free closure.
  • Extraction of deciduous (baby) teeth to improve bite/malocclusion.
  • Dentigerous cyst removal.
  • Periodontal therapy and guided tissue regeneration.
  • Advancement flaps for closure of larger gingival defects and oronasal fistulas.
  • Bonded sealants and Composite Restorations.
  • Tumor resection including partial mandibulectomy/maxillectomy or rim excision.
  • A fully equipped brand-new dental operating suite, with recovery cages for constant observation of patients before, during, and after procedures.
  • Current and safe anesthetic protocols including regional anesthesia, constant rate infusions, and peri-operative pain management.
  • Efficient full mouth digital radiography, and experienced assessment.
  • Dental home care recommendations and products to help you care for your pet’s teeth.
