Announcing Dr. Andrea Wernham is now a Veterinary Dental Practitioner!
The Veterinary Dental Practitioner (VDP) program was established by Dr. Brett Beckman, a board-certified Veterinary Dentist, to provide training for General Practice veterinarians that want to provide a high level of dentistry for their patients. They are the most qualified veterinarians in General Practice to provide safe and proper oral care to your loved ones.
However, they are not board-certified specialists.
What is a Board Certified Veterinary Dentist™?
Board certified dentists are specialists that have completed an additional 4 years of training after graduating vet school. They preform many advanced procedures not done in General Practice.
In order to complete the VDP program, Dr. Andrea underwent a year of virtual and in-person training with both theory and practical skill assessments to ensure a strong foundation of knowledge in veterinary dentistry.
We want to make sure your pet’s mouth is healthy and pain-free to help them live their best life!
We are happy to book an assessment and answer any questions you have.
In addition to the VDP program, Dr. Andrea has completed other Advanced Dentistry Wet Labs and Courses, and can offer the following services:
- Surgical extractions, including mucoperiosteal flap creation and tension-free closure.
- Periodontal therapy for early periodontal disease.
- Advancement flaps for closure of larger gingival defects and oronasal fistulas.
- Bonded sealants and Composite Restorations.
- Tumor resection including partial mandibulectomy/maxillectomy or rim excision.
- Cleft palate repair.
